Patteswaram Durgai Temple

Located 8 km away from Kumbakonam, TamilNadu; this temple  is located in a village called Patteswaram. 

About:

The village was named after Patti (also called Nandini), the calf of Kamadhenu, the divine cow in Hindu mythology. Plan for two hours to visit the place, especially for its sculpture and architecture. The temple is famous for Goddess Durgai shrine.  Goddess Durga is highly decorated.

The lore says that,

It is said that Lord Rama had installed a Shivalingam here to get rid of his dosham or sin for killing Ravana, he also did a penance here.

A good old temple that provides you with a divine experience!!!
